The international staff is made up of University Professors, coaches, multi-agency teams experienced people.
The Salesian University Rebaudengo (IUSTO) in Turin, in cooperation with the Psychological Department of Jyväskylä University in Finland and PeaceWaves International Network, offers a University Improvement Course in “Public Coaching”, fixed in February 2016.
The course is for those who wish to become facilitators and change experienced people in multi-agency teams and local governances. The dialogical experienced person plans, helps and leads teams.
Managers, leaders, teachers, doctors, experts and coaches with tested experience, will develop their own abilities through dialog: they will learn, examine and test the Dialogical Approach; an original approach developed in Finland and other Northern European countries in the last twenty years.
As T. Arnkil e J. Seikkula say, the Dialogical Approach is not a method in the strict sense of the word, but a stance, an attitude a way to behave among people; in its centre there is an essential relation of alterity: we are all similar but no in the same way. Dialogical practice could improve relationships and form new points of view.
Strengthening Dialogical attitudes and culture encourages the research and the change of new paradigms; for instance, changing from the paradigm of control and of fear to the paradigm of responsibility and diligence.
In such a course, Dialogical practices are combined to the typical coaching ones, in particular that of the “third generation” as R. Stelter wrote.
The need of thinking about a change in local governances, public services and of all the multi-agency teams and the need to find experts to face it, is related to the nowadays crisis which has striken the Western world, in particular Western Europe.
The main results of this crisis are: unemployment, the increase of NEET (not in employement, education and training- that is 15/29 year-old young people who are not working, nor studying, nor training), the increasing percentage of aged people in total population, migration waves, the distrust in government, the weakening of welfare.
Adopting the integrated dialogical approach to coaching means to improve relationships, activate psychological abilities of those who are directly involved (including the coaches) and of the whole community and social networks, means to create dialogue, to act in dialogue and to keep the dialogue open. Training “dialogue experienced people” will be useful to local governances and multi-agency teams, as latest studies show.
The Improvement course answers the need of multi-agency teams , of experts and those who wish to deepen public services settings.
The paradox about the dialogue is its ease and meanwhile its complexity; it is easy as life but also difficult as life is. But the dialogue , as Bachtin (1984) says,
t…he single adequate form for verbally expressing authentic human existence is the open ended dialogue. Life by its very nature is dialogic. To live means to participate in dialogue: to ask questions, to heed, to respond, to agree, and so forth. in this dialogue a person participates wholly and throughout his whole life: with his eyes, lips, hands, soul, spirit, with his whole body and deeds. He invests his entire self in discourse, and this discourse enters into the dialogic fabric of human life.
The course is addressed to master degrees owners and to coaches with a Secondary School Certificate and with a documented 5-year-practise and-or PCC references and-or ACC references, subjected to a Scientific Committee evaluation.
Duration: about 6 month at Weekends- 112 lectures and workshops for a total of 13 credits CFU.
The start up is scheduled on February 26, 2016. Registration wil be closed 12, 2016.
